Chicago Cayman Owners !

Time to start local threads on first Cayman impressions, break in, fun weekend drives, etc. This seems to be the easiest place to start . . .

Couldn't be happier with me Seal Grey/Black Cayman since I took possession 3 weeks ago. About 800 miles, no problems so far. Lots of driving on the 294, up Sheridan Road, down I-55, even taken it into the city.Trying to keep away from all the truck traffic. Got a clear bra installed through The Porsche Exchange and am very happy with it so far.

What are your impressions of your cars so far? Love to find out !

I am going to jump on your thread here because although I live in Michigan, my Seal Grey, black interior Cayman will find its way to Chicago a few times this summer since my son lives and works there. I took delivery on launch date, but only have about 700 miles because the car spent most of the winter at my place in Florida. Although I am thrilled with the handling, I am modestly disappointed with the acceleration. I do have the Tiptronic so I am sure that contributes to some of my disappointment. I notice the tiptronic finds 5th gear as quickly as possible and only downshifts to 4th when I should be in 2nd. Tiptronic is necessary for a number of reasons that are not important here, so maybe I got what I deserve. This is my first mid engine automobile and the handling is noticeably different. I absolutely love the way this car handles. Of course, the looks have been talked about enough so no need to repeat those comments. Some regrets include not getting full leather and SC. When I ordered I did not have the benefit of this site and was totally unfamiliar with exactly what the SC did. I only saw it as an ugly looking aftermarket type chronograph, unaware of its full potential. I now know particularly with the Tiptronic it is mandatory. I have installed clear bra, red seat belts and chrome tips. Also swapped out the air filter for BMC air filter. Looking for a new exhaust when something worthwhile comes available. Maybe Stratmosphere will come through for us. Anyway, that is it. If you are going to have a get together in Chicago I may decide to come over and I will watch this site for such an event.

I don't live in Chicago, but I plan to drive around the city when the weather's a lot nicer! I hate this rain!
