I'm getting ready to order my '08 Cayman. I would be interested in hearing any positive feedback regarding your service experience (perhaps with the name of your service adviser or mechanic). HBL/Tysons, Rockville, and Tischer are my 3 closest dealers. Thanks.

Tischer is a sponsor. But I have no experience there, others might be able to address.
Got mine at Rockville. Salesman is Adam G. No complaints. No service calls yet. I did have it in for a bent wheel (covered by the insurance) which took a while to get. But I had a free loaner so no biggie.
Had a friend buy an Audi at HBL/Tysons. Good price but was unhappy with the service. Although after a lot of arguing, she got a new motor (block was cracked from the get-go it appears). Interesting that they noticed the clutch was worn but said nothing so 6 weeks later they had to R&R everything to replace the clutch.
Yes, Tischer is a sponsor here and I have been there several times. Once for some very minor things like getting a key programmed and a flat tire. They also installed my AWE.
I have NOTHING but good things to say about Tischer. They treated me VERY well. I dont think there are service advisors in the traditional sense. The service manager took care of everthing. Very NICE people.
I have to say, my dealings with Tischer have been pretty good so far. It's currently in for warranty work. Kind of annoyed that it's been back a few times for the same problem but not totally their fault as they don't know exactly what the problem is.
Bought the tire and wheel insurance with car from Tisher. I had a center tread nail that they wanted to patch even though Porsche manual states tires should not be pacthed under any circumstance. Never meet service manager but got his voice mail quite a bit? Some lady who handles the claims was who a dealt with. They were more that willing to do something that Porsche does not recommended? Bought the tire at my own expense. The coverage would cover side tread damage only. Needless to say not a satisfying exp. with Tisher.
Please let me know if I can help remedy the situation. I know and explain to customers that that insurance only benefits "blow outs". And it should have been explained to you that way.

atlasGCayman, I guess that is sure a lesson in there when buying the insurance. Mine and a lot of others are for punctures an accordance with Porsche recommendation. I'd recommend letting Casey try to sort this out our ask for a refund on the policy. My dealer flat refuses to do anything other than replace and they make the call for the carrier.
As things progress you can always ask for a letter from the dealer who sold the policy saying that they accept the liabilty resulting from the recommendation to deviate from Porsche policy. That should focus the decision makers.
I read over that warranty and it clearly states that tread punctures are not covered. I can scan and post if anyone is interested in reading it.
I was going to inquire about the policy when I get my car. But if the coverage only covers "blow outs" and not "tread punctures" as you have stated, then what kind of policy is that, especially when Porsche designates tires shoud not be patched (per atlasGCayman)? In addition, what percentage of flats are "blowouts"? Seem as if the policy that your dealership offers is not very good, to say the least, unless I am not understanding what is being said in the thread. Are there different policies given by different dealerships with very different coverages? I have read where some dealerships have covered a new tire under the warranty.

PS- I sent you a couple of PM's while you were away.
Beyond being a sponsor, I feel compelled to point out that Casey is a contributing member of this little community (as you can see in this thread alone). That means a lot to me personally, and it should to you too. He's always friendly and helpful and his time spent here makes him a Cayman expert. He has answered general questions for me even though I didn't buy from him. Give the guy a call. You have nothing to lose and I suspect you will be happy you did.

I picked up a customer in cockeysville the other day, she hit a man hole cover with her 2007 c2s cab. The wheel and and tire damage alone was $1700. I would buy it in a heart beat.

I must be the most un-lucky cayman owner. In the middle of following this thread I had my third tire puncture in 15 months. Not quite center thread but again I was offered a patch. HOWEVER, after patching and considering the location and size of the screw TISHER ordered me a new tire under my coverage. I'm two for three so the the policy has paid for itself. Original post was only an FYI not to knock Casey or Tisher just reporting my experience and info about the tire and wheel policy.
