First year oil change

I've had the car 11 months. Close enough to a year so I had an oil change done. Kudos to Tischer. I've always been treated very well there and the service manager explained some things to me I thought may have been issues but are not.

Not looking forward to the cost of the two year service though

My Cayman S just celebrated it's "first birthday" today. With 9200 on the clock I made an appointment at the dealer for "just an oil change". Had to explain to the reservation person (on the phone) and separately to the service writer when I came in that I just wanted an oil change. I had to "gently" insist that I didn't want the one year service (whatever that is) since the Cayman didn't have a one year requirement. Got that settled and went as advertised. I have to thank the numerous posts of other members who ended up with more than they requested from certain dealers. You're right Chows - year two will be a bigger "bite" on service but it's still a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things.

I did the first oil change myself when she hit 5K. I will do it every 5 months or 5K which in my case will be 5 months because she has an average of 300-400 miles a month spring, summer, fall hibernates for the winter. got 7K on her now.
