Sussex County, DE

Having bought a Cayman 6 weeks ago, I was wondering if there were any groups or clubs of owners in Sussex County, Delaware. I live in Lewes, Delaware, and notice that all the PCA activities are basically up in the Newark/Wilmington areas. If there are any groups down here, I'd like to know about them.

Chaz,
If you haven't already, check out the delaware pca web site. They recently started a southern group that has held a couple of meetings in the Millsboro area. While I agree most events are in the north, there have been a few events in the Dover area this summer. Since you are a recent member you may not have heard about some of them. You can check past newsletters on the web site: Newsletter - Delaware Porsche Club
If you look at the last few newsletters you should see some info on the southern group and where they meet.

Also, I think I met you the day you picked up your car. Hope you are enjoying it!

Dave in newark

Hi Dave!

Yes, we did meet in Newark! Alex introduced us. Thanks for remembering.

I love this car. I just haven't found good places to drive it, except on Rt. 1, but the State Police are all over the place, and hidden behind turns and trees looking for anyone going a bit fast.

The PCA website seems much more complicated than this one to follow. I've looked for information about meetings in Southern Delaware but can't seem to find any. If you have a schedule, please send it to me. I'll continue to look.

It was nice hearing from you, Dave.

Chuck

Chuck,
The latest newsletter is now on the web site. It has info on the next southern group meeting. Wednesday 10/17, 7PM, at Fresco's, 8203 Coastal Hwy, Ocean City, MD. I imagine you will get a paper copy of the newsletter before that date. It has email contact info for Chip Clapp, who is the southern group coordinator.

Glad to hear you are having a good time with the car. As for driving, I like the little country roads in MD and DE when I head down your way. They aren't as curvey as the ones up north, but a lot less crowded if you get away from the beach. Also, they tend to be lightly patrolled. I suggest heading west and staying off any of the major roads. If it doesn't have a stripe painted down the center of it, that's a good sign!

Dave
