Glad to see a good number of you all joining us. I'm looking forward to this drive. Let's hope for good weather. I'll have to make the most of each drive, as family constraints will limit the number of drives that I can arrange this year, so we have to make each one count.
I'll post detailed instructions this weekend for those that have not attended in the past.
Spring Fling: Saturday April 19th 2008
Lambertville, NJ
A spirited drive along the Delaware River and through the quiet back-
roads of Bucks County. Come equipped with a camera, your Porsche and
ready for a ride to blow the winter cobwebs off your car.
Meeting point:
Lambertville Municipal Court
25 S Union St, Lambertville, NJ 08530
Arrive: 7:15 to 7:45am
Driver's Meeting 7:45am
Depart: 8am Sharp!
We plan to start early and be done by late morning.
Suggestions on logistics:
i) Arrive with a full tank of gas. There are two gas stations in
Lambertville, that are at the intersection of Bridge St and Rte 29 -
they also have rest rooms.
ii) If you have 2 way radios, bring them, as we'll have them and can
all tune into the same channel.
iii) Arriving early is good and will allow time for socializing and
admiring the cars.
iv) Bring a camera and take lots of photos.
v) The route is designed with fast stretches, as well as slower
(curvy) fun stretches. These speed differences will naturally spread
out the group and allow you space to have fun. The run can be done
without a navigator if you stay close to a car with a navigator, but
it's best to have someone in the car navigating with the route that
we will provide.
If bad weather is forecast we will post a message on the RTR forum
notifying of a change of date. The rain date will be Sunday April 20th.
Well, we did the dry run for next weekend's Spring Fling this morning and I have to say that I love this drive.
There was a light fog as we crossed the bridge from New Hope into Lambertville and the river looked amazing.
The roads are in great shape and with the exception of one section of PA-32 all the roads are open. We'll need to make a slight alteration to our route to account for the section of rte. 32 that is closed, but otherwise we're in great shape.
Of all the drives that I've done this route has to be my favorite... a nice combination of fast and slow sections - some roller-coaster climbs and descents and most fun of all the slamming side to side curves.
Lake Nockamixon was quiet and ready for our invasion.
The trees are starting to bud and many have flowers on them - the timing for the drive this year is just perfect, as it's really pretty out there right now.
Wayne - sounds awesome! Looking forward to this drive. My brother-in-law will be coming and it's his first experience so I'm glad you are so enthusiastic about the run. See you Saturday morning!
JHS - I'll be heading to Lambertville early Saturday morning from Narberth. Just going to take 76E to 676E to 95N to New Hope exit.

Just installed my Das Schild liner and applied a fresh coat of 100 Grand so I'm ready for the drive on Saturday. Looking forward to it. Bringing my brother-in-law, will be his first experience.

I was hoping to take delivery before the 19th so that I could participate in the run. Turns out I will be taking delivery ON the 19th so I'll be occupied. Could be worse though.
I'll just have to prepare for the next outing. Hope everyone enjoys it.
JHS, I think the run is supposed this Saturday, not Sunday, right?
