I saw objectuser's bolt-in roll bar post -- as well as the several about GT3 seats/belts and am inspired to make my '06 Cayman S more trackworthy.
I don't want to try and do the work myself -- and would like to find a recommendation for a "1-stop" shop in the DC area -- or somewhere mid-Atlantic to set up my car for track days. I'd prefer to have all the stuff done at the same time in a place that can re-set codes etc.:
HEIGO bar
GT3 seats
codes "re-set" for
5-point belts
minor negative camber (no plates or anything)
some decent trackable tires
etc.
DCLEE or others in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area, could you recommend someone to order these parts and install them that you trust?
I suggest you join the PCA. I'm not sure if you would be in the Potomac or Chesapeake Region. See http://www.caymanclub.net/zone-2/209...pen-house.html for an open house. I know nothing about them but they are mentioned frequently in the local PCA newsletter.
Of course, TPC, is well known and races. See their website.

Thanks guys. That's 2 votes for TPC. I think I'm in the potomac region of the PCA -- but I just joined and they don't seem to have a forum on their website or a set of links to local shops. I'll ask around as I meet more people. It's clear from the TPC website that they have a TON of Porsche racing experience and can do a good job. A bit of a ways from my place in Rockville but I'll put it on my short list...

I've been going to Funktion Auto, not the cheapest but so far the service has been good and they get you in and out. I know they service a large amount of P cars...

Thanks very much guys. I had seen Funktion Auto's ads at the Kart track out near Dulles -- I'd stopped in once but hadn't gotten a rec about them yet. I'll reconsider. I did call TPC and they seemed very professional. I did get a rec. for Charlie at Intersport but I wasn't as impressed with Omar who answers the phone and runs the place. It can be very tough -- folks who are terrible communicators and don't inspire confidence can do much better actual work than folks with a slick phone voice and better business skillz.
I'll order the GT3 seats from CDOC.com - Your One Stop for all your Racing, Performance Gear, Equipment Needs & more! as well as the 6-point harness equpt. I'm also ordering the bolt-in rollbar. When I have it I'll have to take the plunge with either TPC or Funktion. I'll write up a play-by-play of how it goes with pictures. Thanks to you all for your advice and recommendations. - Michael
