Deleware chapter has an event in October just about 5 weeks after VIR, perfect timing for me I think. There are also more than 6 Caymans registered in Green, Yellow and Blue groups My registration for yellow group is pending.
Hope you don't mind a Zone 1 guy sticking his head in here.
I'm planning to head down to Thunderbolt on 9/6 to check the track out and watch the NNJR-PCA group running their DE event that day. There'll be two CC members driving in the event that day and I'll be heading there with at least two more members.
Maybe we can have nice little intra-Zone CaymanClub meet that Saturday?

CaymanClub.Net members who are also PCA members should request access to the PCA Member only forum by filling in their PCA Member ID# into their profile and then requesting a group membership addition, both of which can be done in the User Control Panel (User CP)

Do come out guys. You can critique my horrendous & Cayman Ken's excellent driving. Swapping lies at dinner is always fun too.
It will be a good chance to scope out the facility & I'm sure there will be other Caymans in attendance as well.
I'm looking forward to VIR 11/6 with NNJR. perhaps you can give me some coaching on how to drive it.
I think this Thunderbolt event is going to be great, I cannot wait.
As for VIR, there are more than few videos out at Google, Yahoo, etc. I don't take many chances between turns 5 through 10, especially is the up hill Sess; an off there certainly means hitting something unmovable at above 70 mph, not pretty. But it is my favorite track, so enjoyable, so challenging in many ways. I hope you enjoy it.
Is anyone else from Zone 2 interested in visiting the track with us on Sat. Sept. 6?
We have a small group of about 4 Caymans from Zone 1 that will meet at the Molly Pitcher rest area on the NJ Turnpike (past Exit 8) between 9 and 10AM that morning.
We should be arriving at the track sometime around 11AM.
Maybe we can all meet for lunch in front of the CDOC store around 12:30PM?
I'll have a better idea of the lunch timing once I see the DE schedule for the drivers in the event. I plan on having some of the Cayman DE participants join us for lunch so that they can answer any questions for those of us looking to dip their toes into the track.
Please post a reply to this thread!
Thanks.

Pete we won't have the run group schedule until Friday morning. I can give you a call & let you know how it is set up. I believe lunch is generally around 11:30 -12:30
Sounds good Bruce. I think the Friday/Saturday schedules are usually identical.
I'll PM you my #...

I'm sorry to say that due to weather and my work commitments, our visit to Thunderbolt tomorrow will not happen... Grrr.....
Safe driving to all of those in the DE event! Maybe they'll let you run with the windows up. Then again, if you go fast enough, no water should get in.

Chin Motorsports has a DE at NJMP Oct 13-14, one day on the Thunderbolt track and the other day on Lightning. Gamecock and I will be there, and I encourage anyone who's interested to join us.
For those of you who've never run with Chin, they always put on an excellent event, with tons of track time and usually an interesting variety of cars. If you'd like you can request me (Bill Koff) as your instructor.
