Track In Spencer, NC

I just saw on the news that someone is going to build a track in Spencer, North Carolina. It will be at an old textile mill site on the Yadkin River . . . near I85 and Old Highway 29. I heard about it a few years ago through some motorcycle friends. I had almost given up on the track but it looks like it will built soon.

I had contacted them before. I'm fairly sure they have all the permitting out of the way and have started construction. It will be the closest track for me when it is finished.

From the graphic it doesn't appear the new track will be anywhere near as challenging a course as VIR, but it's always good to have more options closeby!

They're planning on opening in August, and Chin Motorsports has a DE scheduled there Aug 30-31. I hope it's ready by then!

You should have seen VIR forty years ago. The "challenge" was getting back out to the highway after a rain.
