I finally got my CS up to the Blue Ridge Parkway this Saturday (we were visiting friends in Asheville), and got in a few miles from 25 north of town up to Mt. Pisgah and back again.
I'm pretty sure I found my happy place on some of the curves up there, and the sound of the engine/exhaust when I downshifted in the middle of one of the tunnels - with the windows rolled down, naturally - was pure heaven!
Wow, I love this car...

Well, I agree that the car is great (especially meteor gray) but the parkway drives me nuts. I have to drive/ride way too slow when I'm on the parkway.

Go Mike! Great looking car and the roads up there are wonderful and endless. I just turned 4000 miles on my CS and have been to the north GA mountains 4 times. Its a great day out but I can't find anybody who wants to ride along. I'm trying to convince my wife to be navigator but there doesn't seem to be much hope.

Nothing like some time alone between a man and his car... I make it up from Florida 4-times a year solo because I can't find anyone crazy enough to ride with me. It's difficult enough on straight roads in FL.

Shame on you for not getting in touch with me! I am in Asheville! J/K
I actually thought about posting a few days before I headed up that way to see if anyone in the area would be interested in an impromptu Cayman Club gathering for lunch or something, but we were pretty booked up and I didn't want to abuse the hospitality of our hosts.
Maybe next time? Would folks be up for something like that?

Congrats on a great drive. The parkway is fantastic but the 35mph and 45mph limits are nuts in the Cayman. If it is abandoned I don't mind going over the limits (just make sure I have my 9500i on full alert). Sunday I did a loop on 221 south and then swung back around on the parkway around Grandfather Mountain to Blowing Rock. If anyone is up in the High Country and I have notice I can usually swing taking time for a drive or whatever.
Escort Radar
At ESCORT, we're continually improving our line of radar and laser detectors with the best technology. Our latest invention, the GPS-powered PASSPORT 9500ix, is no exception. It provides the best long-range protection against every known radar and laser gun in use in North America, but also incorporates GPS accuracy to silence each and every false alert. It is by far the most intelligent, fully automatic radar and laser detector ever designed. You drive. It learns. End of story. http://www.escortradar.com

Did I happen to spot you on I-40 Sunday around 4-5 pm (near Exit 50 Biltmore House)?
I spotted a silver CS and a meteor gray within minutes (literally less than 5 minutes going in the same direction (westbound I-40) of each other though obviously not together?
Where in NC are you located?

If you are in this area....of within 50 miles of course. Even if I have to drive a while to meet you I am up for it, but the closer you are the easier it is for me to have some time to set aside for the drives. So dont be shy....do a roll call on the site here and youa re likely to get at least one or two hits I bet.

Nope, that wasn't me - we left town about 1:00 pm on Sunday.
I spotted a silver CS Saturday afternoon on Merriman (I think that's right), kind of across the street from Mast General Store and in front of the ice cream shop.
