Now that I have your attention, please join your fellow Zone 5ers for a FREE, yes I said FREE, track day on March 22nd at the newest road course in Texas, H2R, otherwise known as
Harris Hill Road
Papa in Austin and Texas Red have managed to meet the owners of this fine road course and convinced them to let the Crocs loose on their recently paved track. More details to follow, but we plan on meeting between 8am and 9am on the 22nd at the San Marcos track. The owners will give us a rundown on the track and let us know all about becoming a member of H2R should we like the course. There will be some brief track sessions and by lunch time we will test out this 1.8 mile beauty.
We are working on getting breakfast and lunch catered, but there could be some issues as there isn't much out there yet besides the track itself. We may need to meet up somewhere before we head to the track for breakfast and then go somewhere for lunch before we cut loose on the track; like I said, there are more details to come.
I should also mention that while I say cut loose on the track, standard DE rules apply we need to be safe out there. We will be briefed early on what we can and cannot do.
As I mentioned above, this track is in San Marcos so a short hop for our Austin and San Antonio members, a 160 mile jaunt for the Houston members and a manageable 225 mile trek for our Dallas members. This should be a huge turnout and I invite all of Zone 5 as well as any other members that might be in the area. A HUGE thank you to Papa and Texas Red thank you for a wonderful way to get together and track our toys.
We will need a list to give to the owners to let them know how many to expect, so I will start that and we can just keep that list growing. So who's in?
