can you guys recommend any good restaurants in Vancouver?
While I live in Vancouver and dine out a lot, I don't really have fine dining tastes. Might help if you tell us what kind of restaurant you are looking for (fine dining, view, japanese, cheap eats, local specialties, etc). For fine dining at a somewhat interesting location you could perahaps try Season's, I thought it was pretty decent: Seasons Hill Top Bistro (South Vancouver - Vancouver, BC)
I'm sure there are lots more interesting fine dining restaurants in the downtown area, but I never frequent downtown. Feel free to peruse this website, at the bottom left it has a top rated restaurants list:

Feel free to peruse my restaurant reviews here to see what I liked, but I won't guarantee you share my tastes =) Dine Here Profile: Kujibo
Cheers
i am looking for local specialties--places i should hit that are special to vancouver--i am from the san francisco bay area--i like food in all price ranges--i think we are staying in the downtown area--THANKS
Sorry I haven’t posted on this thread before, as I flew into Vancouver end July beginning August 08 and stayed downtown in the Opus Hotel, before continuing to Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, for a Subaru Launch (the latest incarnation of the WRX).
2 points to the post, just after I’d picked my hire car up I saw a white Cayman S around the airport on or near Granville Street, so if you remember a nutter in a SUV waving at you around this time & place….It was ME !!!
And the second point is that around the Opus on Davie Street, there are some fantastic restaurants. From Sushi bars, if that’s you thing to Fantastic Italian, Thai, …and basically just too many to mention…..
Love your City bye the way, will be very nice in time for the Winter Olympics in 2010…….tks

i have a white CS and live in the richmond area but don't recall seeing anyone waving...
Took the plate details at the time, but can't remember them now. I was just that stoked that I'd just flown 4500 miles and one of the first cars that I saw was a Cayman !! (as I still don't see that many in sunny sunny Manchester. (UK).........................where to be truthful it rains a lot !! )
