The 2007 Dundarave Porsche Show and Ride for Cystic Fibrosis
Mark this day in your personal calendars: Sunday, June 17, 2007, as on this
day ( Fathers Day) we will be holding the 2nd annual Porsche Show and Ride
once again right in the heart of delightful Dundarave Village in West
Vancouver.
Supported by the Dundarave Merchants Association and by special permit of
the District of West Vancouver we will be staging a Porsche Show 'n Shine
type display in the 2400 block on Marine Drive which will have its traffic
reduced in both directions to one lane each way to allow for the display of
our cars. The static display would occur from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at
which time all cars will leave in Parade style fashion to head west along
Marine Drive towards the upper levels to make for the top of Cypress
mountain for a photo session on the overflow parking lot.
This is
PCA-CWR Good Works event with the purpose of raising money to help
find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, a deadly genetic disease affecting children
and young adults across Canada. Money will be raised by means of a $25 or
higher donation to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for having your
Porsche in the Show and Ride event and by selling off a ride in the Porsche
Parade up Cypress (and back!) to the public for $25 or more also in the form
of a tax deductible donation to the CCFF.
The event will be open to members as well as anyone else with a Porsche as
this will be a good opportunity to attract new members to the
PCA and to
promote interest in the P-marque. We had a fabulous variety of Porsche
types and model years last time, with over 50 cars on display, and hopefully
this year will be just as good.
Event Registration:
On line registration for this event is now open via the secure web site of
the Vancouver and Lower Mainland Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. They
will issue your tax receipt also.

registration form. Please sign up soon so you can be guaranteed to get a
place in the event! We might be able to accommodate up to 55 cars.
Rides in the Porsche Parade up Cypress will be available shortly at
www.showandride.ca. These rides will be advertised on event posters that
will go up around the North Shore area as was done last year and hopefully
we will get some good media coverage again.
Event Support:
I'm looking for a few members to give me a hand with the event. And if you
participated last year and have some ideas how to make this an even better
show I would definitely like to hear from you!
As well, any leads to obtain additional sponsorship or financial support to
secure items that can be raffled off during the event would be most
welcome. Corporate support will be featured on the event poster as well as
all printed material distributed during the event, including raffle tickets.
