Highway 40 in Kananaskis Country opens on June 15 (or thereabouts, depending on snow levels), but it would be a great excuse to go for a bit of a run. There are a couple of options we can work out, such as an early morning meetup (Delta Hotel in K country? Numpty's restaurant near Calaway Park? Dead Mans Flats?) do the drive, stopping for the occasional photo op (there is likely still snow at the Highwood Pass) and then grab lunch http://www.caymanclub.net/images/smilies/beer1.gif in Turner Valley/Black Diamond/wherever.
For those that don't know this excellent route: Highwood Pass, The Canadian Rockies
Show of hands anyone who might be interested? While this is the Cayman Club I would vote to let Boxcars come along as well, otherwise I'll have to sit on the side of the road and watch
Cheers,
Craig

Good point - depends on how you spend fathers day. If the run started early enough we should be back in the city by noon, but the alternate option is wait until next weekend? The pass should be open by then - never any guarantee's that it opens on *the* day...

I'd be interested in the 22nd if it's a go. I have PCA (Edmonton) Club events on Friday night and all day Saturday this coming weekend so this Sunday might be a bit much for a Fathers day Weekend.
PCA - Porsche Club Of America
The Porsche Club of America - http://www.pca.org
CaymanClub.Net members who are also PCA members should request access to the PCA Member only forum by filling in their PCA Member ID# into their profile and then requesting a group membership addition, both of which can be done in the User Control Panel (User CP)
Ok - let's aim for Sunday, 22 June - no holidays that I can tell, and the pass will likely be open.
As far as allowing 'flatlanders' along, well, I guess thats OK, as long as you don't mind some altitude and corners If you've not been on this stretch of road I'm sure you'll enjoy it - smooth, sweeping corners, excellent views (bring a camera, keep eyes open for wildlife). Open to suggestions as to meeting places and times - Highway 1 Humpty's would work, or anywhere along Hwy1/16th Ave heading West. Anyone have preferences for time? Meet at 09:00? Earlier? Later?
Cheers,
Craig
I’ll have to pass; I have decided to install my new Softronic Race Plenum this coming weekend. I’ve been staring at it for the past three weeks and haven’t had the time to install it. I have a DE day at Race City on July 4th so I would like to try the new SRP out on the track. I don’t really care about Dyno stats; I want to see what the upgrade will do compared to stock set-up on the track.
Have a good run, keep the shiny side up.
Plenum
The plenum is the piece that goes between the Cayman throttle body and the intake runners. The factory piece is a long black plastic tube with a divider down the middle. There are aftermarket replacements which are designed to allow the air to flow easier/faster into the engine and increase horsepower and torque.
Softronic
SOFTRONIC produces DME programming and hardware to suit your companies specifications. Our current software suite is a complex matched set of programs housed in a Flash Manager and Flash Client. This software is matched with two cables, an End User and Master Cable. The SOFTRONIC proprietary flashing solution outperforms all other combinations in speed and accuracy including the factory Porsche equipment.
Sorry to hear you can't make it Polar Porsche.Weather is looking reasonably good. At least Racecity is in pretty good shape right now!
Kor, there is definitely a group going out from my neighbourhood. Meeting at 9:00 am on Sunday the 22nd. I am trying to arrange a sitter for my kids to make it. A bunch of guys I have been out with before-sounds like a couple of Ferrari's, a Lambo, Viper, ZO6's, 911 turbos and some sport bikes. Should make for an interesting drive!
We/they are meeting in Discovery Ridge (next to Elbow Valley) at the coffee shop at the bottom of the hill, only little commercial strip in the community. Usually head out Hwy 8 then south and do the Hwy 40 loop, maybe stop for a bite in K-country.
I hope to be there, hope some other Cayman Clubbers can make it too!
