i am looking for the same install for my 987 boxster..if anyone know a place that have done a D3 install on a 987 before for a reasonable price, please let us know..
if anyone is interested, maybe we can find a reputable shop and do a group install on the AVIC-D3 or any other navigation and get a group discount since they will need to custom fabricate a install kit anyway?
I'd be interested in a group install if they figure out how to do the bose equipped cars at a reasonable price.
well, the BOSE is a different animal based on what i've heard so far. However, if we can gather enough people, i am sure the shop would be willing to figure it out and get it done.
As of now, who's ready for the install? For me, i am still waiting for the ipod cable coming from crutchfield and it should be here any day. I already got all the parts thats need for the D3. PM me with your contact info if interested and i will make some phone calls and see if a local shop here can work something out for us.
The guys at Sharkwerks (AND at Fremont Prosche) recommended Ernie at Sound Innovations in Hayward.
He recommended the AVIC and said he was thinking of putting it into his 2007 CS. If he has then he'll have all the exprience needed to do the job right. He also said he if I decided to go that route he'd custom fab a bezel for the AVIC for me.
I decided on the Dension route since I really don't need (or want nav anyway) but I have a current audio problem on "sound plus" I want to work out first with the delaer. THEN I'll do the Dension iPod interface.
pointnshoot... thanks for the sound innovations recommendation. I did a little research online and it seems like they have some good reviews from BMW people. Do you know if they work on a lot of porsches?
I re-post this question from <pfazzone> while searching around for ipod schtuffs - good question! Has anyone ever worked out a group buy? Any new opinions on where to get an iPod installation with my Cayman Bose?
hrm...
thnx!!

Denison Install in Bay Area - Has anyone had the Denison IPOD interface installed in the Bay Area? If so, couple of questions:
1. Who did you have do it?
2. Where you satisfied with them and the install?
3. Approximate cost of the install?
4. Where did you have the plugg for the IPOD run to?
