First post/intro & unfortunately looking 4 dent specialist

Hello All,

This is my first post and, unfortunately, I've come out of lurking status due to damage to my baby. While parked, a tree limb fell on my hood -- RIGHT ON TOP of my hood. Result, 4 small dents, my jaw on the ground, trying not to shed a tear (or two).

I've gotten a couple of referrals, but I figure I'd come to you guys for, hopefully, the most reputable dent specialist! This forum has been incredibly informative, but I was a bit shy to come out of lurking until now...so play nice with this girl boys.

Quick introduction: After reading some posts, I have noticed a few of you have spotted me in the Peninsula/SF area. I own a '06 White CS. Not sure how many women are a part of this community, but add one more, me! I'm definitely more of a Porsche enthusiast, but have been brought up in a male dominant family that has educated & made me appreciate in the fine art of the sports car. A perfect day for me is one that my car is clean, the air is cool, the sun is shining, a full tank of gas and I have an open, winding road! Owning a Cayman is a dream. It still makes me smile every time I get behind the wheel!

My screen name, Calyx is the name of my CS. I name all of my cars. My last car was a '03 Boxter and his name was Cassius, get it? (Calyx is greek for "very handsome") As soon as the Cayman S became available, I made the order. I knew I wanted a white one sight unseen, and it has been everything and much MORE than I expected.

Thanks for checking out my (long!) post and any/all referrals are much appreciated -- Cheers!

Sorry to hear about the accident and welcome to the CC. I have used Mathew-Carlsen Body works in Palo Alto, Mathews-Carlsen Body Works.
Someone backed into my Cayenne S and these guys were recommended by several people. When I went there they were first class and reasonable, doesn't sound right, but true. I never saw so many Porsches outside of a dealer's lot than at their shop. The workmanship and service was excellent!

Sorry to hear about the dents, but glad it brought you out of lurk mode! Now that you are here can you do us a favor and take before and after pictures and post them in the forum to share with our members? It might just help someone else out in the future and helping others out is what this site is all about!

Also don't forget to put your Cayman into the Registry!

Quick update everyone.

I ended up just fixing the dent (no paint, bodywork) and am so glad with that decision. The dents came out beautifully, I'd say about 96% "erased". In other words, if I didn't point out where they were originally, it would be hard for you to find them. Also under certain lighting, it disappears altogether.

I used the dent specialist that both Carlsen Porsche and Mathews-Carlsen uses. Just cut them out as a middle man. His name is Malcolm. Really nice man, perfectionist and spent 6+ hours on the job. Will come to you or you can take your car to him in Redwood City. Anyone interested, just PM me and I'd be happy to forward his info.

He took before photos that I'm waiting for him to email and I will take after when I find (or buy) a new camera charger (mine has gone MIA).

K-Man S - Thanks for the welcome! Sorry for the delay, have been traveling.
