I have a few questions for the more experienced out there:
- in the rulebook it talks about different helmets for different events, etc. - does it make sense to get a Snell SA 2005 at this point? i may time trial someday, but not in the immediate future

For this event, I would suggest you use a loaner helmet (unless you have a buggaboo about using a helmet that's been used by others) that they will have available at the event. make sure you get there at around 7:45a or so to register and get a loaner helmet. I can help you get that together. When it comes time to get a helmet for real, I suggest you get an SA 2005, that way you can use it anywhere.

- do i need to get the car tech-ed before driving down to the event? any advice for where in the SF area? our car is about 5mo. old with no hanging parts/accidents, etc. and was just at the dealership for repairs.
|
no, someone will tech you car there before the event

- do i need to pre-register? or do i just show up at a certain time?
|
no - just show up between 7:45a and 8a and you can register there. Directions to the marina airport are on the GGR website (autocross/venues/directions) - PM me if you can't find them

aside from that it seems that comfortable cotton/natural clothes and a healthy attitude are recommended - but what else? we have our car number (888 and 888L) as well as class (AX10)
|
Closed shoes are required - running shoes work well. We'll have to check and see if anyone has #88 taken on a permanent basis. Bring a cooler with some water and you might want to bring a couple of sandwiches or something else for lunch.
