Best Clunk Fixer

Hi All,

Which Bay Area dealer have you had the best experience in fixing the trunk clunk?

Thanks in advance

Not Sonnen, who readily acknowledges that every Cayman comes standard with the Thunk. They said they are waiting for the 2008s to come out and see if the factory did a "silent" redesign, and them mimick it.

At least it ensures a loaner for whatever you bring C in for.

I have a 2008, purchased at Sonnen, and haven't had any problems with my trunk.

Its funny b/c I bought mine at Sonnen and they just couldn't get it fixed ('waiting for a recall'). Rector spent the time and had a lot more success..guess I know who gets my service business now.

no clunk

I just had my 5k service and asked the guys at Stead in Walnut Creek to evaluate the clunk I hear every time I go over a speed bump. Their response: "you have no clunk". Oh well...

I've had my 08 about a week now and haven't heard a hint of clunk or boom or any other odd noises. Maybe the factory has finally gotten things sorted out.

Did you drive the tech around to show him when/where yuo get the clunk? Fremont's initial response was "what clunk?" Then I drove teh tech around and he said - "no known fix, they all do that, but I'll try." Clunk's gone.
