Free Oil Change

Well, sort of:

For East Bay and Surrounding areas, I just purchased a "ENJOY the City" coupon book for $20, that has lots of fast food eating coupons. And it also has a free minor service (oil & filter change) at Michael Stead Porsche, not to exceed $300!

Plus tire rotations (probably good for Cayenne only) , wash & wax, free wiper blades, etc.

A very small amount $.50 of each $20 goes to D.A.R.E.

The number for info to where you may get a coupon book is 877.525.4766.

All of the coupons in the book (food, service, golf, etc) are good through December 2008.

I think they jest.

I called MS in Walnut Creek today to get my clutch slave cylinder replaced under the recall and asked them about doing an oil & filter change. I was informed that they do not do solely an oil & filter change, I'd have to do the minor service at $350. Quite odd as the fremont dealership had a full page ad in one of the papers this weekend offering oil and filter change for $130.

I guess the WC dealership doesn't want my money and I should probably put the money into the equipment needed to do oil changes myself

Yeah, the Walnut Creek dealer will only do a minor service. But the coupon in the book is for a minor service. A $300 maximum value. So when I can get a $300 coupon for $20, I am happy to take my car there.

I have my 2-year or 20,000 mile service coming up next month, so I'm using it then.

If you do elect to change the oil yourself, then I recommend getting the filters and crush washers from suncoast. Even with shipping they are less than our local dealership.

Ahh, so they allow the $300 to be used against a $350 service. That sounds better.

Thanks for the suncoast tip.
