looks like i will be coordinating some Meet&Greets as well as some general meet-up at AX/track events! this first post is a general "sending out the feelers" for level of interest - i would like to coordinate some fun for our Zone, to do so i am counting on you guys for input and feedback.
* are you too far from San Francisco/San Jose to participate in these activities - let Z7 know, and we may come to you!
* if you are a Zone 7 sponsor and would like to demo your product for us, let me know what you have in mind and i’ll run it by Ken and his.
* do you have a radical/awesomtastic tool or garage set-up and enough know how to give a little demo on something? you see where i am going with this... i know we have some grease monkeys and detailers out there.
how about your level of interest in the following?:
1. Cayman Oil Change and Chat - i am about up for an Oil Change, anyone else game?
2. Rallye + Lunch - last year was fun, want another?
3. Mod(ification) Party - who is doing what in the near future?
4. Monthly Weekend Cayman Chat Brunch - food + cars = yum!
5. Spring Tour Weekend up to Mendocino - 2 night get away, backroad tour
6. Wine Country Tour - perhaps overnight around Sonoma or Lodi?
7. Santana Row and other Euro car events around Zone 7 - just smell that leather
8. Driving tour through local parks, back roads, etc.
9. Detail and Drive - let's detail up our Caymans and cruise
10. [insert new random and cool ideas here]
twice/mo.: AX near San Francisco, AX Marina Airport - i'll likely be there, will you? track events: any regulars out there? I would love to have a local volunteer to answer any track questions i get. who are our drivers out there?
please let me know your interest level in the Meet&Greet activities numbered above and/or track events. if there is something going on in your area, shout out or PM me about it and we will see if we can get some of Z7 together.
i will be updating the CC calendar with Zone 7 PCA events and others as planned - so keep those eyes on our Zone 7 Forum and Calendar and let's get some gatorz together.
after all, we don't bite... much.

How about adding an indoor go kart event to the list? Any interest? There's one place in Fremont and one in Burlingame. The Burlingame place is supposed to be really nice.
I haven't been to the Fremont one but the one in Burlingame (gokartracer, I think) is very good. Two complete tracks that can both run at the same time.

While in Zone 7, I'm at the other end of the world from the Bay Area (Reno/Lake Tahoe). However, there are a couple of CC members up here in the mountains and I'm sure we'd love to get together if a trip was organized somewhere East of Sacramento. Sierra Foothill Wine Country or Lake Tahoe trip are relatively close with lots a great driving roads and awsome scenary. SVR has their CRAB event coming in mid-April with some interesting events for PCA members. Love to here from anyone planning on attending. If anyone is coming to the high country me know - always look for some "fast" company.
By the way - congrats on being the new Zone Moderator. I love your enthusiam.

I'm new here (bought my 987 Boxster in May) and would like to participate in most of these activities, though scheduling and family commitments will limit possibilities.
I'm hoping to make it to the PCA auto-x on Mar 15.
P.S. Joined the Z7 group too.
