I just registered for the Lotus Club open track day event on March 21st. Any other bay area/Oregon Cayman owners interested in attending? It seems like a fun venue, is limited to only 60 cars in 3 groups, and it is only $165. Here is their link:
Plus, if there was one car I would like to have if I couldn't have the CS, it would be an Exige/Elise! It sounds fun to bomb around the track with them.

so far from shores i'd left behind, still far from shores i've yet to reach... *
If anyone would be able to attend, I thought Dave would make it! Last we met, I didn't have my car yet and you still had your 2.7. Tell your brother to bring his TT too!

I just shot him an email. His Turbo may be in the shop getting some upgrades then, but he is looking at another new toy tomorrow. A 2007 Fiero. I didn't think Pontiac made those things any more. He assures me that they have an "F430" Fiero, but that they are not made by Pontiac. He claims they are made in Italy. LOL. An Italian car? I told him it must be a scam. He said I need to check on the interweb and learn myself about Eyetalian cars.
It sounds like a good event. Good price. Not too many cars. And locust drivers tend to be cool folks.
I am shooting to have my Quaife in before then.
I forgot that you were "gmsracing". One day we will meet again at T-hill.

Sounds good. I thought his car was already "upgraded."
My car will be pretty much stock. I've got the IPD plenum installed but honestly I don't like it too much. I've got an EVO intake and a Millteck exhaust on the garage floor, but I may just leave it stock. I'm going to run in the novice/intermediate group because I haven't had this car on track yet.
Plenum
The plenum is the piece that goes between the Cayman throttle body and the intake runners. The factory piece is a long black plastic tube with a divider down the middle. There are aftermarket replacements which are designed to allow the air to flow easier/faster into the engine and increase horsepower and torque.

So you are registered? Cool. My brother and I just signed up. he is trying to get a few of his other Turbo friends out there to help team Porsche battle the insect hoard. His car is currently 610HP on street gas and 690 on race gas. The upgrade takes it to 800HP on street gas. New turbos. watching him accelerate down the main straight is pretty amazing already.
I registered for intermediate/advanced because I have been out to T-hill enough, but it will really depend upon the crowd. Plus this will be my first time there with my S and LSD if I can get it in by then.
LSD - Limited Slip Differential
A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road, or for high performance vehicles, such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.

Should be fune. 800 hp! I remember when I think it was stock (It still didn't have plates) and it was fast then. It will be interesting to see what you think of the Quaife.

Looks like he will still be at 690 HP. His appointment with Sharkwerks is later that month.
This should be fun!
