I just want to check and see if anyone here besides Zonet and I are going to the event (Aug. 16th to Aug. 19th). Perhaps we can set up a meeting place to hook up or set up a PBCD Run for Zone 8 (So Cal Sector).
Let me know. Otherwise, I will be driving up with the boys from the Ferrari Club.
Bummer, I am driving up on Thursday morning. I will see you gentlemen up there and perhaps we can caravan back on Sunday?
Rod, I will PM you my cell number just in case you need to get in touch.
it will be great seeing you again.
I first went to PB races and concour in 1952, then for the next several years. Had a C-Jag end upside down in the ditch 5ft in front of me. Of course this was the old Del Monte Properties course. In 52, slept in the car we drove up, my mother's '48 Plymouth and from '53 on slept beside my TCMG, all right beside the track which opened to normal traffic in the evening. Went again about three years ago. Will go again never. Does anyone care? No, not even me! Its just so easy to blather on the internet.
Wow, that must have been something when there were real road races in Pebble Beach. I think they still have some historic photos in or near the bar at the Inn at Spanish Bay if I remember correctly. What caused you to decide never to return?

fonduesky---You're setting youself up for some "good ol' days" stories but I will spare you. Actually it is all a great event but everything has become such a mob scene. I really would go again in the right circumstances. In the fifties, one ticket got you into the races and you wandered back and forth to the concour whenever you tired of race cars running over your toes. Heck, I"ve even anchored my sailboat off the Lodge and dingied ashore to eat while on a cruise from Sacramento to Puerto Vallarta....not while the races were going on, but doubt one could do that today.

Aw, too bad that you won't go. I would love to hear some stories from am "Old Timer".
