ecmazza.....so far there is you, me, and kimchang from somewhere else. Confirms what I have come to believe about a lack of Cayman social potential in this area. Of course the Orange Co guys get plenty going if we want to go up there. I, personally, am so antisocial and hermit-like that it certainly wasn't going to be me to suggest anything. Would attend whatever you put together but would vote against it being at the beach. Ed
(Did you get employment locally?)

Yeah, yeah, working in San Diego...well, wife is working now, I will be starting soon enough, start date still a bit off. So now I get to have a little fun, while being sure to support my wife and help around the house however I can too.
ed1 you've got to give people a chance. You can't be that cold blooded. 8-P
They're out there. Remember Cayman don't have good hearing. They lay in wait for their prey, silent, detecting the movement of other animals before pouncing. Once we get some blood mary's into the water and get that movement going, I think we'll attracked a few more. Also, it might be because they're part of the PCA of SD and don't know we're here, has anyone posted a link for the reptiles there?

Wanted to start a thread to see if there was any interest in a San Diego happy hour, brunch, or maybe even beach something get together.
A bit of unsolicited advice on setting up a meet:
Pick a date, time, place and set the agenda. People will follow quickly when the details are known. No everyone can make every event and that is OK. With a couple of weeks notice I bet you will even get a number of the OC and LA Caymans to come your way.
A couple of examples from up north:
Bad - a group tried for weeks (months?) to set a BBQ but never agreed on a date, time, etc. and the event never happened.
Good - CCC4321 set a date, time, and agenda and 18+ Caymans came together on one weeks notice.
The worst case is you get a low turn out (3 to 5 cars), but that is still more fun than sitting at home by yourself (except maybe for ed1)
Most of the planning by consensus ends in failure.
Steve---Welcome (to what its hard to say) and congratulations. This thread pretty well tells the story. Heck, I didn,t even go to Porsche Parade. Not proud of that; just didn't. This Sat should be the Carlsbad Mall gathering. It could happen that I go to that. (See thread here on Zone 8) Regards, Ed
