08 First Service???

Hello Forum,

Need a little help here. I got a CS 08. I called a couple of dealership to ask about when is the first service due. I was surprised to find that two dealerships provided me with two different answers. Rusnak of Pasadena told me its due at 12,000 mile or 1 year. The cost is about $649, includes oil change and inspection. The next service will be at 24,000 miles or 2 years. But, when I called McKenna, they told me its due at 10,000 miles or 1 year. The next service in due at 20,000 miles or 2 years. It includes the oil change and some minor inspection of the vehicle. (Sorry, forgot to ask how much).

Can any SoCal club members help to provide me with some information. When is the 08 CS first service due? What type of work is being done on the first service? How much does the service cost? Which dealership do you guys recommand?

Thanks and look forward to your post. Happy Holidays.

The maintenance schedule for the 2008 Cayman states the the first service is 12,000 miles or one year which ever is first. Did your car not come with the manufacturer recommended maintenance schedule? I would always refer to that for the maintenance of your Cayman.

The car will tell you when it needs service. The actual miles on the car will vary depending on how hard you drive it, so I guess both dealers could be correct.

I changed the oil on mine roughly every 5k miles myself and then the service indicator came on at around 16k miles (on 06 Caymans the factory estimated service was every 20k miles and mine was litterally beaten to death). I guess they changed that since then?
