Have those that ran 100 octane noticed any performance enhancement?
Frankly, there should be NO enhancement what so ever. If it performs better than typical premium 93 octane that would mean the car is seeing predetonation on the 93 octane. Be nice to have some data points...
What's up, you ask? Laguna Hills is ripping off it's customers. Probably the combination of being right off the freeway, where gas prices are usually higher, but also serving their price insensitive customers in the area.
Sweet - I shop at that Pavilions weekly and the station is about 2 blocks from my place. Now I just need the Cayman (May build). Shouldn't be too long.

I live right down the street from there, I fill my Evo 8up with it to and of course I couldn't resist to fill the whole thing up, OUCH. But hey higher octane on a fixed up turbo car is a very nice thing.

I found an outfit called Rocket Brand Fuels. They sell what they call Racing Fuel. I get it for $5.50 per gallon in the Chicago area and they list it as 100 Octane. You can find them on the web at www.rocketbrandfuels.com and look for a dealer near you. I use this occasionally on my M3 - I do not have a Cayman yet. But, to be honest, the premium gas available in gas stations (listing as 92 or 93 octane) seems just fine in my car.
Update on the 100 octane gas. No price change in months! I figure that if 91 octane gas continues to rise in price, I'll soon be filling up with 100 octane race gas. Even though this is a Union 76 station, née, Conoco-Phillips, the 100 octane gas pumps now sport Sunoco Racing Gas decals. Below is what Sunoco has to say about their unleaded racing fuel blends.
